This book is a guide, reference, and training manual for those who specify, install, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot the BAS and its input and output components. The primary focus is to provide the foundations for competent testing and calibration and provide standardized testing protocols for each device type.
Chapters 1 through 7 provide foundational information and preliminary data which are applicable to the chapters that follow.
Chapters 8 through 18 are focused on Binary Input devices.
Chapters 19 through 31 are focused on Analog Input devices.
Chapters 32 through 36 are focused on Binary Output devices.
Chapters 37 through 41 are focused on Analog Output devices.
Chapters 42 provides the testing protocol for VFDs which require multiple points (binary inputs, analog inputs, binary outputs, and analog outputs) and a good understanding of their operation is required to properly test and troubleshoot them. Chapter 43 provides the answers to the Review questions at the end of most chapters. Chapter 44 provides a summary of abbreviations used throughout the book.
